Parsons graduate Tamara Sui established New York-based womenswear brand Tinsquare in 2013. After showcasing its debut collection in SS2016 New York Fashion Week and Onetime Show in Shanghai, Tinsquare earned both considerable recognition and commercial appreciation.
Due to Tamara’s fascination with mathematical logics in pattern cutting, Tinsquare offers a unique interpretation of womenswear by deconstructing pattern pieces, exploring dimensions with the body and creating thought-provoking silhouettes. Tamara also emphasizes on finding dynamic moments through color-blocking and using unconventional textures, such as gathering leather, laser cutting acrylic and embroidery on techno textiles.
Before gained her bachelor degree in fashion from Parsons The New School for Design, Tamara has years of experience in fine art- oil painting and installation art mainly, and this further influences her design sprits in fashion. Constructed jackets, sculptural dresses, and graphic leather goods would be essential items of the brand Tinsquare.
